👋🏾 Hey everyone, I’m Michael Brown!

I’m a 37-year-old Software Engineer for 7 years and I truly enjoy my job. My software engineer journey began with my first boss at a non-profit science organization, who introduced me to Drupal and the world of open-source tools. This sparked a passion that aligns perfectly with my love for Android and Linux open-source applications. I’ve always been a fan of Android and specifically Google products at how vast their mission statement is in it’s usefulness: “to organize the world’s information and make it accessible and useful for everyone”

I’ve had the privilege of working on some exciting projects, including an AI chatbot that helped site visitors find information securely and a fun Android movie app project (which, though it didn’t land me the job, did get me paid!). I’m passionate about back-end development and the power of data manipulation. My approach to development emphasizes clean code and collaboration, whether it’s working with colleagues, engaging with site visitors, or learning from others' documentation. I believe in the importance of community and feedback.

Here on MichaelBTech, I’m taking back ownership of my digital presence. My goal is to connect with the Android and open-source community through insightful posts, tech news, and maybe even some personal thoughts on movies, TV shows, and other interesting findings. I’m originally from Southern California, a first-generation Computer Science graduate, and part of a long line of Black IT professionals. I currently reside in Arizona.

When I’m not coding, you’ll find me watching the Lakers and Commanders, exploring the latest Android tech (especially on my Pixel 9 Pro), spending time with my wife, Fatima, or directing production at my church, LifePoint Phoenix (where I once managed a stressful but rewarding Christmas production).

Let’s connect! You can find me in the comments section of each post here on blog.michaelbtech.com, across the Fediverse, on BlueSky, or on Threads. I’m excited to share my insights and experiences with you!
